Summer 20132 October 2013
Its hard to write a news update for Ropax without using the word ‘busy’, so I’ll describe the last quarter as being merely ‘hectic’.
As mentioned in the spring update, the anticipated ISO 14001 certification was granted in early June from British Standards, with OHSAS 18001 being awarded in early September 2013.
The company now holds all three major standards (quality, environment and safety) for its integrated management system. Securing these three building blocks (plus IRATA membership) has been the primary objective over the last year and now the company can focus on marketing and growth.
To kick start this strategic change, the company has produced a short video, available to view on Ropax’s Youtube channel which acts as an overview of the companies operations, and additionally completed filming for an episode of Engineering TV that will be aired on Sky TV – obviously this features Ropax’s NDT and Rope Access services!
In preparation for an increase in demand levels, Ropax’s recruitment site is now live, allowing both individuals and subcontract companies to apply to work for Ropax on future projects. In time this recruitment site will be developed further into a full procurement/ supply chain/resourcing portal – but this is beyond the requirements of the company at present.
Operationally, in order to improve asset tracking and prevent non-calibrated equipment entering into the field, an electronic asset management system has been introduced which we hope will be fully operational by next quarter.
