Seals and Wading birds

11 September 2013

Todays session was demonstrating the abundance of wildlife that can be found on Walney island. The group started off by looking at the variety of things that get washed up on the 25 miles of beach around Walney Island, from animal skeletons and fishing nets to cartoon stuffed toys. Then after a short and bumpy bus ride taking the group to South Walney Bird Reserve, the group walked to the bird hide where they could see Oystercatchers and Cormorants on the beach. They even experienced a few seal sightings.
