Today Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Ropax joined forces with the National Trust to explore the world of Natterjack Toads, at Roanhead beach, Barrow. We explored the beach as we waited for night to fall, discovering shells and creatures that live on the shores edge. Once it was dark, we went to explore the ponds in the sand dunes in the hope to find the rare and endangered Natterjack toad. Unfortunately due to the unseasonably cold weather, the Natterjacks did not appear, but the young people had a great time exploring nevertheless.
